THICC Bowl

The Thicc Bowls are handmade in Bulgaria, where the glazes are carefully measured, applied and cleaned by hand. The clay used is a so-called stoneware clay, which has the properties of sandstone and is correspondingly light in color.

Only the enormous mass of the Thicc Bowls allows the material to work at full capacity, as a thin body & outer walls would not provide the sandstone with enough mass to store the heat properly.

Models & Colors

The Thicc Bowl is only available in the latest version. THICC Bowls + variant, which not only has the very best features, but also benefits from a modern design language. A distinction is made between two categories:

• Phunnel
• Killerbowl (multi-hole)

The Phunnel benefits from a hybrid depot, which can be smoked sparingly on contact with around 12-14 grams, but also on full contact with around 15-17 grams.

The Killerbowl, or multi-hole, consumes an average of around 14.5 grams, making it one of the most economical multi-hole heads on the market. Smoke durations of over 2 hours are achieved with stainless steel HMD.

New glazes, old glazes

Every batch (drop / new delivery) we try to make new colors available, but at the same time we will no longer produce some of the old ones.

There is no predetermined quantity limit on normal Thicc Bowls. Instead, there are so-called LIMITED Glazes, which are limited to 50 heads. There is a certificate with a head number for each limited edition head.

40-50 heads are sold per batch. A new batch is produced every 3-4 weeks.

The right setup for Thicc Bowls

As a setup, we recommend using both the Phunnel, as well as with the Multi-hole variant Stainless steel HMD's, as these, just like the stoneware clay, store the heat better and release it more indirectly. This combination harmonizes ideally, whereby smoking sessions of 2 hours upwards can be achieved, depending on the tobacco used.

Phunnel head-end

There are 3 different approaches for the head-end of the Phunnel variant.

• Distance setup
• Knob contact setup
• Full contact setup

Distance setup

For the distance setup, we use a smaller amount of tobacco, around 11-13 grams depending on the type. When building the head, we make sure that the tobacco does not come into contact with the HMD, so that the heat acts indirectly on the tobacco and therefore heat-sensitive tobaccos in particular run better, but also save tobacco.

This type of head construction is suitable for any type of tobacco.

Knob contact setup

An HMD with knobs is used for the knob contact setup. With a few exceptions, almost exclusively aluminum HMDs are suitable for this. For example, those from ONMO or else KALOUD.

The tobacco is built so high that the protruding nubs of the HMDs touch the tobacco, but the base of the HMD should not be in contact with the tobacco.

This type of head building is suitable for most types of tobacco - especially for most dark blends.

Full contact setup

With full contact, as the name suggests, the entire contact surface of the HMD is used to come into contact with the tobacco. It should be noted that the tobacco has full contact, but the HMD should not rest on the tobacco, but should still be supported by the head itself, as otherwise we would fall into a „Overpack setup“ can be reached.

This type of head growing is suitable for only a few types of tobacco, as a high heat tolerance is required to be able to process this heat.

Multi-hole head building

Depending on the HMD (aluminum or stainless steel), there is only one variant of the multi-hole head that delivers the required performance.

Stainless steel HMD setup

For the stainless steel setup, about 14-17g of tobacco is used, depending on how moist (heavy) the tobacco is to build it at a slight distance. The tobacco is built up to just below the edge of the head, without protruding tobacco leaves, so that there is no direct contact with the HMD. With this setup, running times of 2 hours upwards are realistic

Aluminum HMD Setup

For this purpose, either a minimum distance is used, as with the stainless steel setup, or nub contact is used, as this brings the typical behavior patterns of aluminum HMDs to the fore and is more familiar to many users.

Conclusion

The THICC Bowl is ideal for every type, flavor and manufacturer of hookah tobacco and shines with its unique ability to forgive many mistakes. Be it too much heat or „incorrectly“ constructed heads.
