Classic or Flat – which Onmo stainless steel is right for me?
The
Onmo stainless steel HMD Classic has the iconic bar design (dimpled bottom) - this brings more flavor intensity through targeted contact points and you can choose between contactless / bar / full contact. The
Onmo Stainless Steel HMD Flat has a completely flat base in the style of a Na Grani - this ensures even heat distribution and minimizes spot burning.
How do I build the head for the ONMO (nub contact)?
The ONMO has bars on the bottom instead of studs (except the flat version). You have the choice:

Contactless: Build tobacco under the rim. Less heat, very relaxed.
•
Bar contact (recommended): Build the tobacco so high that it lightly touches the bars. This gives more flavor and smoke.

Full contact: Tobacco touches the entire floor. Only for professionals and heat-resistant tobacco (
Darkblend)!
When will the Onmo exchange set with tools be released?
Onmo has announced an exchange set with a tool that allows you to buy and change individual floor panels (Classic / Flat). A specific release date is still pending - you can currently get it
Onmo Stainless Steel Classic and the
Onmo stainless steel flat already delivered directly with the appropriate base plate.
How do I clean the ONMO properly?
Clean the aluminum Onmo with a brass wire brush (carefully so as not to scratch the optics). You can completely disassemble the Onmo stainless steel thanks to the screw system and soak it in warm water with citric acid. Never put the charcoal lighter directly into the water – always let it cool down first!
Difference to the Kaloud Lotus 1+?
The Onmo Aluminum is made of one piece (no screws), has more space in the interior (no ribs) and beams instead of studs on the floor. They are very similar in terms of performance, but the Onmo often costs less than half as much. If you want to upgrade again, choose the new Onmo Stainless Steel HMD (Onmo Stainless Steel).
