Tip: Preheat your stainless steel smokebox for 2–3 minutes with the lid closed before you open the lid. This way the heat spreads more evenly and the tobacco is less likely to burn.

Most HMDs are designed for standard Phunnel heads (approx. 6–7 cm diameter). Check compatibility with your head before buying.

Stainless steel or aluminum – which is better?

Stainless steel lasts longer, retains heat better and is more flavor-neutral. Aluminum heats up faster but also cools down faster. For regular smokers, stainless steel is worth it.

How do I clean my HMD?

After cooling down, simply clean with warm water and a steel brush. For heavy buildup, soak overnight in water with citric acid.
