Most multi-hole heads in our range come from a few manufacturers who focus on Turkish and Killer bowls. These are currently the most strongly represented brands in this category:
Decide first based on the tobacco you smoke most often. For dry Darkblend and Turkish tobacco, a multi-hole head is the right choice, because the molasses can drip through the holes and the tobacco gets direct heat. If you mostly smoke moist Virginia blend, you're better off with a Phunnel, which keeps the juice in the head.
Next comes size: a Turkish head is flat and small, holds only a few grams of tobacco and delivers short, intense sessions. A Killer head is deeper and wider, holds about 15–25 g and is suitable for longer rounds with more smoke. Since multi-hole heads heat the tobacco more efficiently, you need less tobacco overall than in a Phunnel.
For the fit: most multi-hole heads have a standard opening and sit on almost any shisha with the head seal. If the head sits too loosely, a thicker seal helps; for shishas with their own system like AEON, you'll need a matching Head adapter. Classically, multi-hole heads are operated with aluminum foil and natural charcoal, a HMD is, however, the easier solution especially for beginners, because it distributes the heat evenly and prevents burning. Make sure the diameter of the head rim matches the chosen attachment – Turkish heads are smaller than Killer heads.

A multi-hole head has multiple holes in the bottom of the bowl through which air flows down into the hookah hose. The phunnel, on the other hand, only has a raised hole in the middle. With the multi-hole head, the molasses can drip down, which is ideal for dark blend and Turkish tobacco, as these varieties need little moisture.
Multi-hole heads are ideal for dark blend tobacco (e.g. Darkside, MustHave, Tangiers) and Turkish tobacco. These dry, intense tobaccos benefit from direct heat and molasses drainage. A phunnel bowl is more suitable for moist Virginia blend tobacco.
This depends on the type: Turkish bowls hold 8-15g of tobacco for short, intense sessions. Killer bowls hold 15-25g and allow for longer smoking sessions. In general, multi-hole heads require less tobacco than phunnel heads because the tobacco is heated more efficiently.
Turkish bowls are flat and small - they are designed for small amounts of tobacco (8-15g) and deliver an intense, short smoking experience with a lot of buzz. Killer bowls are deeper and wider, hold more tobacco (15-25g) and are suitable for longer sessions with thick clouds. Both use the multi-hole principle.
A Heat Management Device (HMD) is optional but recommended. Traditionally, multi-hole heads with aluminum foil and natural carbon are used. A HMD/headpiece simplifies heat control and prevents burns. For beginners, an HMD is the easier choice.
After each session, rinse the cooled head under warm water and remove burnt tobacco residue with a small brush. Keep the holes clear with a toothpick or pipe cleaner. Glazed heads are easier to clean than unglazed ones. If there is stubborn residue, soak the head in warm water overnight.
