Care & Cleaning

Your Kaloud Lotus needs minimal care to ensure it lasts a long time:

  1. Allow to cool – Never hold it under cold water while the lotus is hot
  2. Rinse with warm water – Remove tobacco residue and ash
  3. Soak if necessary – If there are stubborn residues, simply soak in warm water for 30 minutes
  4. Use a soft brush – Do not use steel wool or aggressive cleaners

Note: Slight discoloration due to heat is normal for aluminum HMDs and does not affect functionality.

What is an HMD and why do I need one?

An HMD (Heat Management Device) is an attachment for your shisha head that replaces the aluminum foil. It regulates the heat of the coals evenly and prevents your tobacco from burning. The result: better taste, longer sessions and easier handling.

Is the Kaloud Lotus the original HMD?

Does the Kaloud Lotus fit my shisha head?

The Lotus 1+ fits most standard phunnel and multi-hole heads with an inner diameter of up to 7.4 cm. For very small or oversized heads, you should compare the dimensions beforehand.

How many coals do I need for the Kaloud Lotus?

Standard recommendation: Start with 2 natural coals (26 or 27). For larger heads or if you want more heat, you can add a third coal. You can regulate the temperature using the rotating lid.

What is the difference between Kaloud Lotus Niris and Silver?

Technically both variants are identical – same size, same material, same function. The difference lies purely in the design: The Niris edition comes in elegant matt black, the silver version in the classic aluminum look.

How do I clean my Kaloud Lotus properly?

Allow the lotus to cool completely after the session. Then rinse it with warm water. If there are stubborn residues, you can soak it for 30 minutes and clean it with a soft brush. Avoid steel wool or harsh chemicals.
