Holster Tobacco Base & Quality

All 200g flavors run on finely cut Virginia with a mild nicotine strength. That's the beginner-friendly combination: lots of flavor, dense clouds, but no harsh kick to the head. The fine cut and the generously drawn-in molasses keep the flavors stable throughout the session, instead of flattening out after 20 minutes.

Because the molasses is so present, Holster is one of the varieties you loose and without pressure into the head. Densely packed tobacco slows down the air circulation here and costs you smoke – a mistake that's especially noticeable with moist Virginia blends.

The perfect setup for Holster tobacco

Holster is moist and molasses-intensive – that's why a Phunnel head the first choice: it holds the molasses in the head instead of letting it drain out, and that ensures even heat and longer-lasting dense smoke. A Multi-hole head also works, but shortens the session because the glycerin flows downward. You'll find all models in the category Shisha bowls.

For the heat, we recommend a smokebox (HMD). The advantage is control: constant, easily adjustable heat and no ash on the tobacco. Plan on 15 to 22 g of tobacco per head, 2–3 mm of air above it, and 2 to 3 fully lit coconut natural charcoal cubes in 25 mm. Too much charcoal is the most common mistake with Holster – the acidity and sugar notes especially react sensitively to it.
