Stainless steel (V2A/V4A): The most popular material for modern hookahs. Robust, durable, tasteless and easy to clean. Almost all Amotion, Moze, BLADE and Steamulation models use stainless steel.
Aluminum: Lighter than stainless steel, ideal for portable hookahs and travel. Anodized aluminum is scratch-resistant and available in many colors.
Carbon: Ultralight material for the smoke column, used on VYRO One Carbon and Steamulation Carbon editions. Visually a highlight and extremely stable.
Wood: Premium material for luxury shishas like Wookah. Each wood grain is unique and makes your shisha one of a kind.
Many hookahs are called Smoke column set sold: smoke column, dip tube, ground adapter and often a hose are included. You choose a bowl (glass container) separately - so you can choose the size and design to suit your style. Some models like the BLADE Mini, Panda or Aladin come as Complete set with bowl – ready for immediate use.
Tip for beginners: Start with a complete set (e.g. BLADE Mini or Aladin) – everything is included. For beginners, we recommend a complete set such as the BLADE Hookah Mini or an Aladin model. These come with everything you need and offer good value for money. Complete the set with a phunnel head, a smokebox and natural charcoal - so you have a modern setup right from the start.
You can get a solid entry-level model from around €50-80. Mid-range shishas from Moze, Amotion or VYRO cost between €100 and €200. Premium models from Steamulation, Wookah or Regal Hookah start at €200 and can cost over €500 depending on the features. It's better to invest a little more in a high-quality shisha - it lasts longer and smokes much better.
Stainless steel is more robust, more durable and completely tasteless - the best choice for stationary shishas. Aluminum is significantly lighter and therefore ideal for traveling and on the go. Both materials are easy to clean. We recommend stainless steel for everyday use at home and aluminum for on the go.
A smoke column set contains the smoke column with dip tube, ground adapter and usually a hose - but no bowl (glass container). You have to order the bowl separately. This has the advantage that you can choose the size and design yourself. Some models come as a complete set including a bowl.
Yes, with an electric HMD like the XKAH Pro. It completely replaces the coal with an electric heating element and is charged via USB-C. Simply place it on the shisha, switch it on and enjoy - no charcoal lighter, no ash, no smoke. The XKAH Pro fits almost all shishas thanks to the silicone adapter.
After each session, rinse the smoke column and the immersion tube with warm water and a brush. Rinse the bowl with warm water and a little citric acid. Rinse the hose with water and hang it up to dry. For stainless steel and aluminum shishas, water is enough - do not use aggressive cleaners.
You need a shisha (smoke column + bowl), a bowl (preferably a phunnel), a smokebox or aluminum foil, natural charcoal, a charcoal lighter and of course shisha tobacco. Optional but recommended: a mouthpiece for hygienic smoking in a group and a diffuser for quieter bubbling.
