Buying guide: how to find your shisha

Smoke and flavour are created at the bowl – from tobacco, bowl and heat management. The shisha itself mainly has to be airtight and draw freely. So what matters is how you smoke:

• For on the go and the balcony: a Travel shisha. With a well-matched setup, small shishas smoke just as well as large ones – size is about transport, assembly and looks, not smoke or flavour.
• For a group of several people: a shisha with two or four hose ports. Seal unused ports with Valve balls, otherwise the shisha draws in false air.
• For getting started: a model with one hose port made of Stainless steel – durable, neutral in taste and easy to clean. Fewer ports mean fewer seals that can leak.
• For the classic look: a traditional shisha or a model from other designs.

Plan the right accessories right away: a Shisha head, a smokebox (HMD), Natural charcoal with Charcoal lighter, a Hose and, if needed, a replacement base.

Which shisha is right for you?

Choosing the right hookah depends on how and where you smoke. Our range covers all categories:

Compact mini shishas (less than 35 cm): Small, light and great for on the go. The BLADE Hookah Mini is great for festivals, travel and spontaneous sessions. Shisha materials at a glance

Stainless steel (V2A/V4A): A widely used material for modern shishas. Robust, durable, flavour-neutral and easy to clean. Almost all Amotion, Moze, BLADE and Steamulation models use stainless steel.

Aluminum: Lighter than stainless steel, ideal for portable hookahs and travel. Anodized aluminum is scratch-resistant and available in many colors.

Carbon: Ultralight material for the smoke column, used on VYRO One Carbon and Steamulation Carbon editions. Visually a highlight and extremely stable.

Wood: Premium material for luxury shishas like Wookah. Each wood grain is unique and makes your shisha one of a kind.

Smoke column set vs. complete set – what do you get?

Many hookahs are called Smoke column set sold: smoke column, dip tube, ground adapter and often a hose are included. You choose a bowl (glass container) separately - so you can choose the size and design to suit your style. Some models like the BLADE Mini, Panda or Aladin come as Complete set with bowl – ready for immediate use.

Tip for beginners: Start with a complete set (e.g. BLADE Mini or Aladin) – everything is included. Which shisha is the best for beginners?

For beginners, we recommend a complete set such as the BLADE Hookah Mini or an Aladin model. These come with everything you need and offer good value for money. Complete the set with a phunnel head, a smokebox and natural charcoal - so you have a modern setup right from the start.

How much does a good shisha cost?

You can get a solid entry-level model in the budget price range. Mid-range shishas from Moze, Amotion or VYRO sit in the medium price range. Premium models from Steamulation, Wookah or Regal Hookah belong to the premium price class and can cost considerably more depending on features. Above all, a high-quality shisha is better made and lasts longer – smoke and flavour are created at the bowl.

Stainless steel or aluminum – which material is better?

Stainless steel is more robust, more durable and completely flavour-neutral – a good choice for stationary shishas. Aluminium is considerably lighter and therefore ideal for travel and on the go. Both materials are easy to clean. For everyday use at home we recommend stainless steel, for on the go aluminium.

What is a smoke column set and do I still need a bowl?

A smoke column set contains the smoke column with dip tube, ground adapter and usually a hose - but no bowl (glass container). You have to order the bowl separately. This has the advantage that you can choose the size and design yourself. Some models come as a complete set including a bowl.

Can I smoke a shisha without charcoal?

Yes, with an electric HMD such as the XKAH Pro. It completely replaces the charcoal with an electric heating element and is charged via USB-C. Simply place it on the shisha, switch it on and enjoy – no charcoal burner, no ash, no embers. Thanks to its silicone adapter, the XKAH Pro fits almost all shishas.

How do I clean my shisha properly?

After each session, rinse the smoke column and the immersion tube with warm water and a brush. Rinse the bowl with warm water and a little citric acid. Rinse the hose with water and hang it up to dry. For stainless steel and aluminum shishas, ​​water is enough - do not use aggressive cleaners.

What do I need to smoke shisha?

You need a shisha (smoke column + bowl), a bowl (preferably a phunnel), a smokebox or aluminum foil, natural charcoal, a charcoal lighter and of course shisha tobacco. Optional but recommended: a mouthpiece for hygienic smoking in a group and a diffuser for quieter bubbling.
