What is a hole punch and why do I need it?
A hole punch is a tool for evenly piercing the aluminum foil or an HMD grid on the tobacco head. The holes ensure air circulation and even heat distribution — the cleaner the holes, the better the draft.
What is special about the HX hole cutter Wood?
The HX hole punch Wood has an ergonomic wooden handle that fits comfortably in the hand and does not slip. The needle is made of stainless steel, precisely ground and durable. The Wood variant has light wood, Dark Wood has a darker precious wood finish.
How do I use the hole punch correctly?
Place aluminum foil or HMD on your head. Position the hole punch vertically and pierce it with light pressure - do not turn it, otherwise the hole will become unclean. Even hole pattern (approx. 20-30 holes for aluminum foil) ensures the best pull.
Does the hole punch fit HMDs and aluminum foil?
Yes, for both. With HMDs, a hole punch is often not needed (the grid already has holes), but with an aluminum foil setup it is mandatory.
How do I care for the HX hole punch?
After use, wipe the needle with kitchen paper (no tobacco residue). The wooden handle cannot be washed in the dishwasher - wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient. If there is too much moisture, oil the wood to avoid cracking.
Is the handle natural or coated?
The wooden handle is made of real wood (not coated, not painted). The natural grain makes each hole punch unique. Over time the wood develops a beautiful patina.
