In your head, rum is not a fruit aroma, but a mood: dark molasses sweetness, vanilla, oak wood and a warm, slightly spicy aftertaste like a sip from a tumbler. Two schools face each other. One goes in the direction of sipping rum – dark, woody, close to tobacco, just like him Dozaj Black Havana Purro with cigar and vanilla or Shades Dark Cuba Nera with a coffee note. The other is the cocktail rum, in which lime, mint and cola play the main role: exactly the principle of Bad & Mad Cuban Mojito and Vidavi CoLima. By the way, the Jent variety that was out of stock was clearly in the second camp - rum, lime and mint, i.e. a mojito in can form.
Our aroma profile for rum in comparison:
As long as no real type of rum is available, these heads are the closest you can get - depending on whether you are looking for a cocktail or pure sipping rum:
So far there has only been in our range Jent ventured into a real rum aroma - in keeping with the brand's signature, which consistently presents its blends Darkblend-Base builds. Serve the Cuba faction Dozaj, SHADES and Brohood with their cigar varieties, the cocktail side Bad&Mad and Vidavi. We never had the rum aroma itself as a light one Virginiaversion - the one variety that ever carried it was dark based. When it comes to alternatives, you can choose from both camps: The cigar and herbal varieties are all dark blend, while Cuban Mojito, CoLima and Da Bomb have a gentle Virginia base and therefore also work for beginners.
How you pack depends on which side you choose. The cigar group - Dozaj Havana Purro, Shades Cuba Nera, Brohood Nero Cuba - as well as Jent Jamaica 4:19 and Must H Proscco are dark blends: fluffy to semi-dense in the Phunnel head place, 2-3 mm distance from the foil or the Smokebox (HMD) leave and start with reduced heat. Pressing it a little tighter smoothes the nicotine kick that the cigar varieties bring with them. The cocktail side - Vidavi CoLima, Bad&Mad Cuban Mojito and Dschinni Da Bomb - has a gentle Virginia base: sprinkle in loose and fluffy, do not press, smoke as normal.
Depending on the bowl, 15-22 g is the guideline, and natural charcoal is mandatory: auto-ignition chemicals would immediately cover up the warm, woody notes. Too much heat makes your head scratchy - you notice this particularly quickly with the bitter tobacco notes of the dark varieties.
