The Maklaud Shisha collection at HookahX

Flagship Editions 2024/2025

The top models from the Project line and the Helios collaboration - each is handmade, strictly numbered and not reproduced once sold out. The Maklaud Project 25 Ilon Mars is the annual flagship 2025 (limited 100 copies) with the sci-fi narrative “Ark” – human migration to the stars. The Maklaud Helios Project 23 Soldier (Limited 100-200 pieces) shows a bronze monkey figure in a battle-damaged soldier's helmet with an adjustable visor. The Maklaud Helios Project 24 Afraiddo completes the Helios collaboration - with horizontal purge, integrated diffuser and handcrafted bronze art element.

Art Editions – works of art to smoke

The rarest Maklaud editions in which the shisha becomes a real sculpture. The Maklaud Minotaur is limited to a maximum of 10 copies worldwide and shows the Greek Minotaur as a 3D sculpture in brass and silver on ash wood accents - a baroque-mythological investment piece. The Maklaud Totemma 3 Inserts (Limited 100 pieces, launch February 2025) offers three interchangeable bronze totem inserts that represent wisdom, pride and strength - one shisha becomes three looks. The Maklaud Amelia No. 5 is a tribute to Amelia Earhart and the Golden Age of Aviation - Limited Edition (50 copies worldwide, individually numbered) with bronze motor on the base and mouthpiece in the shape of a retro aircraft control wheel.

Exclusive series

The timelessly elegant line for lovers of classic premium aesthetics. The Maklaud Rose Gold carries a handcrafted titanium rose in the smoke column, refined with an electrolytic rose gold finish. With a crystal vase, thread/click system and approx. 70 cm total height, the prime example of Maklaud's craftsmanship beyond figurative motifs.

Maklaud accessories

Handcrafted premium solid brass accessories to match the Maklaud mythology aesthetic. The Hole cutter Maklaud Styx Skull bears the brand's typical skull motif. The Hole cutter Maklaud Shiloh Styx Merlin adds another detailed tool to the collection. Both hole punchers are precise tools for the perfect head construction and are also collector's items.

Tip: All Maklaud shishas are delivered without a tobacco bowl - so you can freely choose the bowl according to your smoking habits. Some models (like Afraiddo and Project 25) come without a vase so that you can customize the look.

Frequently asked questions about Maklaud (FAQ)

Where does Maklaud come from?

Maklaud was founded in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in 2016 and produces all shishas in-house. The name “Maklaud” stands for “handcraft” – every shisha is created in-house, from the sketch to the final polish.

What material are Maklaud shishas made of?

The base is always AISI 304 stainless steel (premium stainless steel from medical technology). The artistic core elements are made from solid bronze, brass, silver or titanium. Special editions like the Amelia also combine ash wood, porcelain and real leather.

How limited are Maklaud shishas?

Very strong depending on the model - the Minotaur is limited to a maximum of 10 copies worldwide, the Amelia to 50, the Project 25 Ilon Mars and the Totemma to 100 each. Each copy has an individual serial number in the certificate of authenticity. Once sold out, editions will not be reproduced.

Which Maklaud Shisha is suitable for beginners?

Maklaud positions itself in the premium and collector segment - the brand hardly offers entry-level models in the classic sense. The Rose Gold from the Exclusive Series is the most accessible variant with a complete set (including crystal vase and head), while flagships such as Project 25 are delivered without a vase.

What does “without vase” mean in Maklaud?

Many premium editions are deliberately delivered without a vase. This allows you to customize the vase visually and acoustically to the model - crystal, matt glass or colored, depending on your personal preference.

How do I care for my Maklaud Shisha?

Thanks to AISI 304 stainless steel and the craftsmanship, care is easy. After each session, rinse the smoke column with warm water and let it dry. Bronze elements can be polished with a soft cloth - a light patina is expressly desired for handmade bronze editions.

Do I need an extra bowl for the Maklaud Shisha?

Yes - Maklaud does not usually provide the tobacco bowl. This is the manufacturer's standard and allows you to choose the bowl that is optimal for your smoking habits.

Are there Maklaud accessories?

Yes - we carry the Maklaud hole cutters Styx Skull and Shiloh Styx Merlin as hand-made premium tools with appropriate brand language.
