With the Vandenberg V1 Phunnel in Atlantis glaze you don't just get a bowl of tobacco - you get one Pre-release piece, which is currently being traded as a possible trade fair colorway for 2026. It is not certain whether this glaze will ever be produced in large quantities. Anyone who collects the V1 should therefore secure this early variant.

The Atlantis glaze takes up the color world of the deep sea: a dark, almost moss-green lip edge flows into turquoise-blue pools, with light cream zones in between that look like refractions of light on the seabed. Since each glaze is different during the firing process, each Atlantis phunnel is truly unique - no two pieces are alike.

Pre-release note - please read it carefully

This model is not a regular component the Vandenberg V1 standard line. Atlantis is a limited pre-release sample, which is currently considered a contender for the official trade fair colorway in 2026. From today's perspective, three scenarios are possible:

• Atlantis will be officially named the 2026 trade fair glaze and will be produced in regular quantities.
• Atlantis remains a collector's sample and is released never in a larger edition.
• The glaze is slightly modified and published under a different name.

Specifically, this means that if this piece is sold, this exact glaze may never be available again. A clear argument for collectors, but more of an indication for occasional buyers that repeat orders are not guaranteed.

Atlantis in detail — glaze and appearance

The Atlantis glaze works with a reactive three-tone composition. The lip edge carries a deep, almost olive green tone reminiscent of wet seaweed. In the Tobacco Depot itself is dominated by a bright turquoise blue, which is interspersed with milky-white highlights in places - typical of high-quality reactive glazes that “bleed out” in a controlled manner in the kiln. On base you can see the embossed Vandenberg signature: a subtle “V” as the manufacturer’s mark.

It is precisely this three-tone look that sets Atlantis apart from the standard range. While the regular V1 glazes are usually based on a dominant color, Atlantis deliberately plays with transitions - making the head the visual center of every setup.

Who is Atlantis made for?

This head is aimed primarily at Vandenberg collector, to lovers of special glaze looks and to smokers who want to specifically add a visual accent to their setup. Functionally, the V1 is one of the most sophisticated HMD phunnels on the market - Atlantis offers the well-known good smoking behavior in a visually exceptional version.

The V1 is generally well suited for beginners (flat tobacco structure, easy handling). However, if you are specifically looking for a standard head that can be used every day and do not value collector's value, you may be better off with the regular V1 glazes (e.g. pigeon blue, jade, ice crystal).

Care & construction

Construction: Insert the tobacco loosely up to the lip, do not stuff it. Put the HMD on, put the glowing coals on it – done. The phunnel geometry provides the right draft on its own.

Cleaning: Allow the head to cool completely, then wash with warm water and a steel sponge. The dense glaze can handle this without any problems. No aggressive cleaners necessary - the glaze cannot be “burned in” because molasses does not penetrate.

Storage: Dry, padded. For a pre-release piece, it is worth paying additional attention to shock protection - the collector's value depends on its undamaged receipt.
