This head is a Prototype/Sample from a test batch and heard not for regular Vandenberg series production. We get these glaze trials straight from the factory as they arrive — no curated batch, no guaranteed repeat. It may well be that this glaze is in this exact shape will not be produced again and it is therefore a real unique piece acts.

You receive the head exactly as it comes from the firing process - with all the handmade characteristics of the reactive glaze process (small differences in speckles, individual color gradients, slight variations on the edge and stem). This is not a mass-produced item, but rather a collector's item.

The Vandenberg V1 Phunnel Morgentau is a Phunnel tobacco bowl from the Vandenberg factory in Germany - handmade, in light blue-lavender with a golden antique patina on the ribs. The classic phunnel shape with ribbed handle and central single hole and the high-quality ceramic make it a classic representative of the Vandenberg family.

The glaze changes from a light lavender ice blue on the edge of the bowl to a warm turquoise on the stem - the golden “reactive patina” on the ribs of the stem gives the head its characteristic depth. Like the first sunrise over a quiet lake.

Design & Workmanship: Morning Dew

The Vandenberg factory in Germany makes each head individually by hand. The glaze is in the so-called Reactive process applied - each batch produces different speckles and color gradients, no head is exactly the same as the other. This seals the ceramic completely: molasses residue can be easily wiped off and the clay does not “bleed”.

The embossed V logo on the base marks every original Vandenberg head — not a replica, not a drop ship. The classic phunnel shape with ribbed handle and central single hole has been the Vandenberg trademark for years.

Care & Cleaning

The reactive glaze seals the ceramic completely - after each session, a quick wipe with warm water, if necessary with a little dishwashing liquid, is sufficient. If there are stuck tobacco residues, soak them briefly, then pull them through with a barrel brush.

If you use it intensively, we recommend rinsing thoroughly every few sessions - the ceramic itself is long-term stable and can easily withstand hundreds of sessions. Important: no dishwasher and no aggressive cleaners - these damage the reactive glaze.
