The Vandenberg V1 Phunnel – Ice Crystal Blue is German craftsmanship in its purest form. The Ice Crystal Blue glaze is a technical masterpiece: the surface shows a crystalline, almost three-dimensional structure, as if ice flowers had frozen directly into the glaze. Light ice blue with deep accents. One of the most complex glazes in the range.

The V1 has been a legend in the shisha scene for years - and for good reason. Made from High density stoneware, the head stores the coal heat extremely well and releases it evenly to the tobacco. The result: intense taste, dense smoke and with remarkably economical tobacco consumption.

Building tip for the V1

Insert fluffy to semi-dense, 3–4 mm below the edge. With HMD, 2 naturally glowing 26 coals are enough for the entire session. For aluminum foil, we recommend 3 coals and two to three holes per quadrant. The V1 also forgives handling that is too hot - the stoneware buffers peaks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I care for the Vandenberg Ice Crystal Blue?
After the session, rinse with warm water and remove burnt-in residues with a steel sponge. The glaze is harder than most residues and will not be damaged.

Does the V1 fit all shishas?
Yes, the opening in the base is designed so that it seals on all common shisha mouthpieces (18/8 and 19/26 grind). Use with head gasket if necessary.

Virginia or Darkblend – which is better?
Both work very well. Virginia tobaccos tend to need less heat and develop more density in the V1. Darkblend delivers more buzz and appears more stable thanks to the stoneware heat distribution.

How economical is the V1 really?
With 12-16 g of tobacco you can achieve a comfortable 60-90 minutes. This is around 30-40 percent less consumption than standard phunnels - the V1 often pays for itself in just a few months thanks to the tobacco savings.
