Vandenberg V1 Phunnel Ibiza Blue

The Vandenberg V1 Phunnel – Ibiza Blue is German craftsmanship in its purest form. The Ibiza Blue glaze gets its color directly from the Mediterranean: a rich, sun-drenched deep blue with slightly varying depth. Reminiscent of the coast of Ibiza in the afternoon light - lively and Mediterranean.

The V1 has been a legend in the shisha scene for years - and for good reason. Made from High density stoneware, the head stores the coal heat extremely well and releases it evenly to the tobacco. The result: intense taste, dense smoke and with remarkably economical tobacco consumption.

Technical highlights & advantages

• High-density stoneware: Fired significantly denser than standard clay - superior heat retention, no “bleeding” of molasses through the pores, easy cleaning.
• Ibiza blue glaze: Rich Mediterranean blue with a vibrant depth of color. Completely seals the head and is scratch-resistant.
• Economical depot: 12-16 g of tobacco is enough for 60-90 minutes - after each session you will notice how much less tobacco you need than with cheap heads.
• HMD compatibility: The lip is unglazed and roughened – Kaloud Lotus, Na Grani, RIP and other smokeboxes are completely non-slip.
• Made in Germany: Each head is individually glazed, fired and tested. Real manufacturing quality, not mass-produced goods.

Why Vandenberg Ibiza Blue?

• Optics: The summer head of the V1 series. Fits into bright, airy setups and looks particularly fresh when combined with white.
• Performance: Stoneware holds heat more stable than clay - even smoke development, less coal management required.
• Longevity: With normal care, a head that lasts for years. The glaze does not absorb any aromas, you can smoke any variety fresh.
• Ideal for: Virginia tobaccos (Aqua Mentha, Hookain) such as Darkblend (Kismet, Must H, Tangiers). The efficient depot also forgives less experienced head builders.

Building tip for the V1

Insert fluffy to semi-dense, 3–4 mm below the edge. With HMD, 2 naturally glowing 26 coals are enough for the entire session. For aluminum foil, we recommend 3 coals and two to three holes per quadrant. The V1 also forgives handling that is too hot - the stoneware buffers peaks.

Frequently asked questions

How do I care for the Vandenberg Ibiza Blue?
After the session, rinse with warm water and remove burnt-in residues with a steel sponge. The glaze is harder than most residues and will not be damaged.

Does the V1 fit all shishas?
Yes, the opening in the base is designed so that it seals on all common shisha mouthpieces (18/8 and 19/26 grind). Use with head gasket if necessary.

Virginia or Darkblend – which is better?
Both work very well. Virginia tobaccos tend to need less heat and develop more density in the V1. Darkblend delivers more buzz and appears more stable thanks to the stoneware heat distribution.

How economical is the V1 really?
With 12-16 g of tobacco you can achieve a comfortable 60-90 minutes. This is around 30-40 percent less consumption than standard phunnels - the V1 often pays for itself in just a few months thanks to the tobacco savings.
