Vandenberg V1 Phunnel Ibiza

The Vandenberg V1 Phunnel Ibiza is a handcrafted single-hole phunnel from the Vandenberg factory in Germany - glazed, fired and individually tested by hand. The matte, stone-like Reactive glaze in a muted gray-blue makes it a reserved, understated-looking head that fits virtually any column.

The V1 is the classic original design of the Vandenberg family: ribbed handle, central raised single hole and a generous depot of 15-18 g. This phunnel characteristic keeps the molasses in the depot instead of letting it flow out - this makes the V1 forgiving and a safe choice even for less experienced head builders.

Design & workmanship: Ibiza

Ibiza is a matt, calm reactive glaze in muted gray-blue to stone gray. Soft sand-rosé speckles and a cloudy gradient run across the body, so that the surface is reminiscent of a weathered natural stone - subtle and reserved instead of gaudy. Because the glaze is applied using the reactive process, each individual head has its own individual mottling and color gradient: a handmade unique piece, not an artificial scarcity. The embossed V logo on the base identifies each original Vandenberg head.

Technical highlights

• Single hole phunnel design: The central raised single hole keeps the molasses in the depot - even heat, consistent smoke for longer, no bleeding or molasses runoff.
• Clay / stoneware (fired to a high density): stores the coal heat well and evenly and is considered a reference material in terms of taste.
• Depot approx. 15-18 g: is enough for relaxed sessions of around 1.5-2 hours.
• Edge diameter approx. 7.8 cm: Perfect fit for common HMDs and smokeboxes such as Kaloud Lotus 1+, ONMO or Na Grani.
• Height approx. 9 cm with ribbed handle — the classic V1 silhouette.
• Sealed, taste-neutral glaze: the head does not absorb any aromas, variety changes are possible at any time without ghosting.
• Made in Germany: hand-glazed, fired and individually inspected; V logo embossed on the foot.

V1 vs. V3 vs. V3R vs. V4 — which Vandenberg head?

• V1 Phunnel (this head): classic original design with ribbed handle and central single hole, larger depot 15-18 g, forgiving phunnel characteristics. Available in over 20 color variations.
• V3 multi-hole head: more compact, with 6-hole star and smooth conical handle, smaller depot approx. 10–12 g.
• V3R multi-hole head: like the V3, but with a deliberately unglazed grip edge for better smokebox/HMD grip.
• V4 (Mini) Phunnel: the smaller, newer generation — more compact, good for short solo sessions.

Perfect setup for your V1

• HMD / Smokebox — fits perfectly on the V1 thanks to the 7.8 cm edge.
• Natural charcoal — uniform heat emission for the clay design.
• Tobacco 200g — Virginia in the distance setup or Darkblend in the contact setup.
• Coal tongs — safe handling of the coal on the plate.

Who is the V1 Ibiza suitable for?

The V1 Ibiza is a forgiving all-rounder and therefore ideal for beginners and experienced smokers who appreciate a generous depot of 15-18 g for longer sessions. Anyone who smokes Virginia in a distance setup or Darkblend in a contact setup is well served with the Phunnel characteristic. The matt, muted gray-blue glaze is aimed at everyone who is looking for a reserved, understated head instead of a gaudy look.

Care & Cleaning

After the session, rinse your head with warm water and, if necessary, a little detergent. The glaze is sealed and does not absorb any aromas, so you can change the type at any time. Important: no dishwasher and do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaners - both of these attack the reactive glaze.

That's why the Vandenberg V1 Phunnel Ibiza is the right choice

• Single-hole phunnel with 15–18 g depot: Molasses stays in the depot, even heat and constant smoke for longer.
• Clay/stoneware: good, even heat retention, appreciated as a reference in terms of taste.
• 3" border: Fits common HMDs and smokeboxes (Kaloud Lotus 1+, ONMO, Na Grani).
• Handmade in Germany: Glazed by hand, fired and individually inspected, with V logo on the base.
• Matte Ibiza Reactive glaze: muted gray-blue with sandy-rosé speckles - each head is unique.
