“Electric shisha head”, “e-head”, “shisha without charcoal” – they almost always mean the same thing: a e-HMD, which replaces the glowing coal with an electric heating element. The correct temperature is on the e-HMD the decisive factor for taste and smoke - but it works differently than with coal. Important: You don't smoke the tobacco yourself. After starting, it runs in first Preheat timer (approx. 8 minutes) – in this phase don't pull, that replaces smoking. The device then regulates automatically to the holding temperature you set down. Basic rule: Dark tobacco (Dark Leaf) can tolerate more heat, brighter/Virginia less. For heat-sensitive tobacco, preheating can be stopped earlier at the touch of a button.

By far the most common cause: dirty silver contact pins between battery and device. Even the smallest molasses or condensate residues disrupt the connection. Solution: Clean pins dry, no water.
Mostly Residues on heating plate/contacts or on Airflow too narrow (too tight = overheating, harsh smoke). Solution: Clean the heating plate with isopropanol, do not overpack the pod, balance out the draft.
Incorrect packing density: Overpacking throttles the airflow, Underpack allows air to flow past the tobacco. Solution: Fill the pod loosely with approx. 8-10 g, distribute evenly, if necessary make a small hole in the middle.
If the device no longer responds and flashes red continuously, it is a fault Hardware defect, which cannot be fixed by oneself – that is a Complaint/warranty case at the dealer.

An e-HMD (electronic heat management device) replaces the coal and classic heat management in the existing shisha with an integrated electric heating element. The real tobacco is heated electronically - there is no need for coal, lighter, foil, tape head and HMD. Devices like the XKAH Pro are placed on the smoke column instead of the normal head.
Only partially. Electric heating avoids coal as a source of toxic carbon monoxide (CO) - the CO risk of coal is eliminated. But real tobacco is still heated with nicotine. Carbon-free does not mean free of harmful substances or health effects, and nicotine-free products are also not harmless. The healthiest choice is not to smoke.

Place around 8-10 g of real shisha tobacco, loose and fluffy, into the lower chamber - do not stuff, press or overfill, otherwise the draft will be blocked. A small hole in the middle of the tobacco can improve airflow.
The removable battery has 13,600 mAh and is sufficient for around two sessions per charge (e.g. 2× ~90 minutes). The hotter you smoke, the more battery the device uses. It charges via USB-C (cable included), fully charged in around 1.5-2 hours. The battery can be changed without tools in seconds, even in the middle of the session.
