Moze Varity Squad Silver – Frosted Bowl – Wavy Mint Shisha

Mint green instead of black or bare steel: the Wavy Mint sleeve puts a light, cool green tone on the smoke column of this Varity Squad and is the only part that sets it apart from the other versions in the line. Base, dip tube, diffuser, charcoal plate and blow-off ring are the same components across the entire series. Here it's shipped with the Squad base and its four hose connections as well as the satin-finished Frosted Bowl.

Design & craftsmanship: Wavy Mint on the Silver Base

The mint green sits in the acrylic/epoxy resin of the sleeve, which is fitted over the smoke column as its own component. Its wave structure breaks up the shade, so the column looks different shades of light along its height. The Silver version keeps the base, charcoal plate and upper area in the steel's natural tone, which leaves the green standing out as a clearly defined middle piece.

Added to that is the Frosted Bowl made of thick-walled, satin-finish glass: 21.5 cm at its widest point, 26.5 cm high, with a very long, narrow neck and an opening of 4.2 cm – 7 cm with adapter. The matte glass takes some of the sharpness off the bright mint without introducing a second hue.

Individually adjustable draw

With the Varity, configuration is part of the product. Because both the dip tube and the smoke column can be split, you determine how your shisha is set up – and with it, how high the draw resistance turns out. Moze describes the possible range as a more direct pull or a softer draw, but does not assign a setup variant to either end. What suits you, you find out for yourself; that's exactly what the series is designed for.

The diffuser at the lower end of the dip tube is interchangeable and provides a quieter, gentler draw. The blow-off is built as its own ring, works with balls – 7 mm in the base, 11 mm in the hose adapter – and can sit either at the top under the charcoal plate or at the bottom on the base, depending on the setup. In addition, Moze offers extension segments for the smoke column and dip tube, which let you extend the column.

Squad or Lounge? The comparison

Exactly one component separates the two Varity models: the base. The Squad Base comes with four hose connections, the Lounge Base with one. Smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, charcoal plate, blow-off ring, height, and weight are identical, so there's no quality difference between the models. Unused connections are closed off – that's normal daily use, not a downside.

Among the configurations, alongside this Frosted Bowl version, you can also choose the Clear Bowl version with clear glass and the smoke column set. The set comes without a glass bowl, measures about 49 cm without the bowl and weighs about 2.2 kg; there you pick the bowl yourself.

It's not the best choice for solo sessions – that's what the Lounge Base is for – or for locations where space is tight: approx. 52 cm height, approx. 4.1 kg weight and a charcoal plate with a 19 cm diameter need floor space.

Care & construction

The same simple rule applies to stainless steel, glass and the resin sleeve: warm water, a brush for the inner parts, no scouring pastes and no aggressive cleaners. Wipe the mint-colored sleeve down damp on the outside. Then let all parts dry completely before reassembling them.

During setup you check the seals on the column and bowl adapter; the setup only stays airtight if they sit cleanly. The bowl is screwed on, and any connections you don't fit with a hose should be sealed off before lighting up.

Small inclusions in the glass – such as air bubbles – can't be ruled out during the bowl's handmade production and are not grounds for a complaint. The same applies to slight color deviations from the product image and to differences in the height of the bowl base.
