Moze Varity Lounge Black – Clear Bowl – Wavy Yellow Shisha

You rarely see yellow on the shisha shelf, and that's exactly what this Varity plays on: the difference from all other versions in the Lounge Black series lies solely in the sleeve. The yellow component is made of acrylic/epoxy resin, its wave structure runs around the smoke column and stands out clearly against the black-coated stainless steel underneath. It's paired with the Clear Bowl made of clear glass, through which the water level and dip tube remain visible.

Underneath, the Lounge Base works with one hose connection – the Varity for solo sessions or sessions for two. Assembled, it stands about 52 cm tall and weighs approx. 4.1 kg; built from stainless steel, glass and acrylic/epoxy resin. The box includes the shisha, the Clear Bowl, the charcoal plate and the seals – you add the hose, head and charcoal yourself.

Design & craftsmanship: Wavy Yellow on Black

At Moze, „Black“ means black-coated stainless steel instead of natural silver – technically identical to the Silver version, visually simply the calmer background against which the yellow can really stand out. The Wavy sleeve is neither a print nor a foil, but a standalone component made of acrylic/epoxy resin with a wavy surface that fits over the smoke column. Moze offers the sleeves in Short and Long, and the smoke column itself can be extended with extension segments.

The Clear Bowl is thick-walled glass at 21.5 cm at its widest point, tapering upward into a very long, narrow neck. At 26.5 cm bowl height, it shapes the overall look at least as much as the sleeve, and because the glass is clear, you keep a clear view of the water level and dip tube. The neck opening measures 4.2 cm, 7 cm with the adapter mounted.

Individually adjustable draw

Moze puts the core of the Varity this way: „Because both the dip tube and the smoke column can be individually divided, you decide for yourself how your Varity feels when smoking.“ Both components consist of segments that can be separated and recombined. As the range, Moze names „a more direct draw or a softer pull“ – which setup lands where for you is deliberately left unspecified by the manufacturer. You try that out over a few sessions.

Two more components belong to this modular system: the diffuser sits at the lower end of the dip tube, is available as a separate part, and makes the draw quieter and gentler. The blow-off is built as its own ring and can be set in two positions depending on the setup – at the top under the charcoal plate or at the bottom on the base. Its valve works with balls, 7 mm in the base and 11 mm in the hose adapter.

Lounge or Squad? The comparison

The only difference between the Varity Lounge and the Varity Squad is the base: the Lounge Base has one hose connection, the Squad Base has four. The smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, charcoal plate and blow-off ring are the same components on both, as are the height and weight. Neither one smokes better because of it – unused connections on the Squad are simply capped. Decide based on session size: alone or as a pair, go for the Lounge; in a group, go for the Squad.

Within the Lounge Black series, the configurations only differ by the bowl. This Clear version comes with clear glass, the Frosted version with the same bowl in a frosted look – identical dimensions, described word-for-word the same by Moze, no difference in smoking behavior. The smoke column set comes without a bowl, measures about 49 cm without it and weighs approx. 2.2 kg; there you choose the bowl yourself.

Perfect accessories for your Varity

Since hose, head and charcoal are not included, you can put together your setup freely. You choose the draw via the Hose and a matching Mouthpiece. On top of the smoke column goes a Phunnel tobacco head, plus Natural charcoal onto the 19cm charcoal plate. If you want to keep the heat more constant over the session, you can also reach for a Smokebox or HMD.

Who is this Varity suitable for?

With one hose connection, the Lounge is designed for sessions alone or with one other person. The Wavy Yellow sleeve is aimed at everyone who deliberately doesn't want yet another black device sitting on the table – the yellow is the boldest statement in this color range.

The Varity is also interesting for people who like to tinker: smoke column, dip tube, sleeve, charcoal plate, diffuser and blow-off ring are standalone components that Moze also sells individually. If you just want to set up a shisha once and never touch it again, you won't make use of that potential – but it will of course still work regardless.

Care & construction

Smoke column and dip tube can be taken apart, which makes cleaning noticeably easier than with a fixed tube. Rinse stainless steel parts and the glass bowl with warm water and a brush; for the bowl, use a brush of a suitable length because of the long, narrow neck. Aggressive or abrasive cleaners don't belong on the stainless steel or on the resin sleeve.

Let all parts dry completely before assembly and check the seals on the bowl, smoke column, and hose connection for cracks or deformation while you're at it – leaks are almost always a tired seal, not a defect in the shisha. Wipe the sleeve only with a soft cloth.

Small inclusions (e.g. air) in the bowl's glass can't be ruled out with hand-crafted production and are not grounds for a complaint. The same applies to slight color deviations from the product photo as well as to differences in the height of the bowl base.
