The Lounge Base runs exactly one hose connection; set up with the included clear glass bowl, it stands at approx. 52 cm and weighs in at approx. 4.1 kg. Because the smoke column and dip tube can be separated, you set the setup and thus the draw resistance yourself. Design & finish: Original Black on Silver
The base version Silver means stainless steel in its own natural tone: the base, charcoal plate and the remaining visible metal parts stay silver. Above that sits the sleeve in Original Black, made from POM – a technical plastic that covers the visible part of the smoke column entirely in black. Visually, this creates a clear three-way split: silver plate on top, black body in the middle, silver base below over the clear glass bowl.
The sleeve is not a coating or a film here, but a standalone component of the Varity modular system; Moze offers sleeves in the lengths Short and Long as individual components. Because black and silver stay color-neutral, you don't need to worry about color matching for hose, mouthpiece and tobacco head.

Individually adjustable draw
The core of the Varity lies in two splittable components: the dip tube and smoke column. You decide which configuration you build the column in, and thereby determine for yourself how the draw feels. Moze frames the range as "a more direct draw or a softer pull", but doesn't assign a specific result to any configuration – you find that out by trying it yourself.
There's also the blow-off, designed on the Varity as its own ring and therefore replaceable. It can be set in two positions: up under the charcoal plate or down at the base. The valve works with balls, 7 mm in the base and 11 mm in the hose adapter. There's also a diffuser at the lower end of the dip tube that makes the draw quieter and softer and can likewise be swapped out.

Lounge or Squad? The comparison
The difference lies solely in the base: the Lounge Base has one hose connection, the Squad Base has four. Smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, blow-off ring, plate system, the approx. 52 cm height and the approx. 4.1 kg are identical on both. Smoking with four people doesn't make it smoke better, just at the same time; unused connections are sealed off on the Squad, which is normal operation.
There are three configurations within the Lounge. Clear Bowl is this one, with clear glass. Frosted Bowl brings the same bowl in satin glass – both are the same size, the difference is purely visual. The smoke column set comes without a bowl, and as a result measures approx. 49 cm and weighs approx. 2.2 kg.
Perfect accessories for your Varity
For your first complete session, you're still missing a few parts:
- Hoses – one is enough, the Lounge Base has no more connections.
- Mouthpieces – matching the selected hose.
- Phunnel tobacco heads – place onto the smoke column with the matching seal.
- Natural charcoal – the 19 cm plate has plenty of shelf surface.
- Replacement bowls – in case the glass bowl ever needs to be replaced later.
Who is this Varity suitable for?
It's the right choice for you if you mostly smoke alone or with one other person: one hose connection is enough for that, and you save yourself the caps that a four-hose base otherwise needs. The second reason is the modular system – if you enjoy varying the setup of column and dip tube and implementing the blow-off, you get plenty of adjustment options here.
It's less suitable if you regularly smoke as a group of four; then the Squad Base with its four connections is the right choice. The space requirement is also part of the decision: approx. 52 cm height and approx. 4.1 kg want a fixed spot to stand.
Care & construction
The smoke column and dip tube can be disassembled for cleaning, which gives the brush access. Warm water and a cleaning brush are enough for the metal parts; rinse the glass bowl separately. Aggressive or abrasive agents have no place on either the black POM sleeve or the stainless steel, since both surfaces can become dull from them.
After cleaning, let all parts dry well before putting them back together – especially the connection points. You should take a look at the included seals from time to time: if they're porous or torn, the setup no longer seals properly and they need to be replaced.

Which bowl and which tobacco head can I use on this Varity Lounge?
The clear glass bowl is included and is screwed on via its adapter. According to Moze, the Varity generally accepts both push-fit and screw bowls; for push-fit bowls Moze offers its own push-fit bowl adapter, available separately. Moze designs its models around standard 45 mm push-fit bowls. You're free to choose the tobacco head: standard Phunnel and funnel heads sit on the smoke column with the matching head seal.
How big and how heavy is the shisha exactly?
With the bowl attached it comes to approx. 52 cm height at approx. 4.1 kg weight. The dip tube has a 12 mm inner diameter, the smoke column 11 mm, the charcoal plate measures 19 cm in diameter. The included bowl is 21.5 cm thick at its widest point, 26.5 cm tall and has a neck opening of 4.2 cm, 7 cm with the adapter.
What's included with the Original Black and what do I need to buy separately?
Moze lists the scope of delivery as shisha, bowl and seals – nothing more is in the box. So you get the hose, mouthpiece, tobacco head, charcoal, charcoal tongs and an HMD separately. Individually available system parts like the smaller engraved charcoal plate or the push-fit bowl adapter are also not listed as included.
How do I adjust the draw?
The dip tube and smoke column can be split apart, so you build the column in different configurations and thereby determine how the draw feels. Moze describes the range as "a more direct draw or a softer pull", but doesn't assign a specific result to any particular variant. In practice that means: try two or three setups and keep the one that suits you.
How is the blow-off handled on the Varity?
It's built as its own blow-off ring, so a separate, replaceable part. It can be set in two positions: up under the charcoal plate or down at the base. The valve works with balls, 7 mm in the base and 11 mm in the hose adapter.
Lounge or Squad – what changes?
Only the base and thus the number of hose connections: one on the Lounge, four on the Squad. Smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, blow-off ring, charcoal plate, height and weight are the same for both. The Squad therefore doesn't smoke any differently, it just allows several people to draw at the same time.
Is the Varity a good choice as your first own shisha?
Yes, with one caveat. The setup itself is straightforward, but the divisibility of the column and dip tube needs to be tried out, and that takes a few sessions at first. If you want a shisha that you assemble once and never change again, you'll get there faster with a simpler model.
How do I clean stainless steel, POM sleeve and glass bowl?
Disassemble the smoke column and dip tube after the session and go over them with warm water and a brush; rinse the bowl separately. Aggressive or abrasive cleaners don't belong on either the black POM sleeve or the stainless steel, because both surfaces can go dull from them. Then let everything dry well and occasionally check the seals for cracks.
Is the Lounge Silver available in other sleeve colors too?
