Black Steel is the Varity version where deliberately nothing is added: there's no colored sleeve on the smoke column, what stays visible is the black-coated stainless steel itself. The only visual contrast here comes from the satin-finished Frosted Bowl, whose matte glass scatters the light instead of letting it through.

Individually adjustable draw
The sentence Moze uses to explain the Varity is: „Because both dip tube and smoke column are individually divisible, you decide for yourself how your Varity feels while smoking.“ Translated, that means: both tubes can be taken apart and reassembled in different lengths, and the column can additionally be extended using extension segments. Moze frames the range with „more direct draw“ and „softer draw“, without assigning a specific result to a specific setup – that stays up to you.
The diffuser sits at the lower end of the dip tube, likewise a separate part and thus removable or replaceable; it makes the draw quieter and gentler. The blow-off ring is a separate component and, depending on the setup, finds its place either up under the charcoal plate or down at the base. Its valve works with balls, 7 mm at the base and 11 mm at the hose adapter.

Squad or Lounge? The comparison
The two Varity models are separated by exactly one component: the Squad base comes with four hose connections, the Lounge base with one. Everything above that – smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, blow-off ring, charcoal plate – is the same part on both, and there's no difference in height (approx. 52 cm) or weight (approx. 4.1 kg) either. The Squad suits group rounds, the Lounge suits solo or two-person sessions. You simply seal off connections you don't need.
In the configurations, you can choose between Clear Bowl, Frosted Bowl and smoke column set. Clear and Frosted differ only in the glass look, the bowls are identical in size and smoke the same. The smoke column set comes without a bowl and therefore measures approx. 49 cm at approx. 2.2 kg – here the Frosted version already carries its satin-finished bowl with it.

And because sleeve, diffuser, blow-off ring and charcoal plate are separate components, the door stays open to rebuild the shisha later instead of replacing it.
Care & construction
Because the smoke column and dip tube can be taken apart, you can reach every spot when cleaning. Warm water and a brush of matching length are enough for the stainless steel parts; you treat the satin-finished bowl the same way, just without abrasive tools. Abrasive or aggressive cleaners have no place on the black coating.
After rinsing, let all parts dry well before putting them back together – especially the insides of the tubes. It's best to briefly check the seals for fit and condition at every assembly, since that determines whether the setup stays tight. If you remove the diffuser, rinse it separately and likewise install it dry.

Small inclusions in the bowl's glass, such as air bubbles, can't be ruled out with handmade production and are not grounds for a complaint. The same applies to slight color deviations from the product image and to differences in the height of the bowl base.

Does every bowl fit the Varity Squad Black Steel?
The Varity accepts both screw bowls and push-fit bowls. Included is the Moze Varity Bowl Frosted, a screw bowl with a widest diameter of 21.5 cm, 26.5 cm height and a 4.2 cm neck opening (7 cm including adapter). If you want to use a push-fit bowl, you'll need the separately available push-fit bowl adapter; Moze designs its models for the standard 45 mm push-fit bowls.
What are the dimensions of the shisha with the Frosted Bowl?
Fully assembled it's approx. 52 cm in height and approx. 4.1 kg in weight, which puts the model in the Large size class (over 50 cm). Inside, the dip tube measures 12 mm and the smoke column 11 mm, with the charcoal plate at 19 cm in diameter. The satin-finished bowl is 26.5 cm tall and 21.5 cm at its widest point.
What's in the box?
Shisha with Squad Base and charcoal plate, the Moze Varity Bowl Frosted as well as the seals. Hose, mouthpiece, tobacco head, charcoal, charcoal tongs and HMD are not included and must be bought separately. With four connections, plan ahead how many hoses and mouthpieces you actually need.
What does a divisible dip tube mean in practice?
The dip tube and smoke column aren't each a single continuous tube but consist of segments you can combine in different ways; extension segments also let you lengthen the column further. Moze describes the range as a more direct pull and a softer draw, without specifying which setup produces which result. So you test for yourself until the draw feels right for you.
Where is the blow-off ring located?
On the Varity, the blow-off is a standalone ring and can be placed in two spots depending on the setup: at the top under the charcoal plate or at the bottom on the base. The valve works with balls, 7 mm in the base and 11 mm at the hose adapter. Because the ring is a separate part, you can swap it out if needed.
Four connections: does that smoke worse than a single hose?
Nein. Squad und Lounge unterscheiden sich nur durch die Base und ihre Anschlusszahl, alle übrigen Bauteile sind identisch. Anschlüsse, die gerade niemand nutzt, werden verschlossen – das ist der vorgesehene Normalbetrieb und kein Kompromiss.
Black Steel or Original Black: what's the difference?
On Black Steel, the smoke column stays without a sleeve, you see the black-coated stainless steel directly. Original Black has a black POM sleeve at the same spot. Technically both are identical, it's purely about material and surface on this one component.
How do I care for the black-coated stainless steel?
Take apart the smoke column and dip tube and clean the parts with warm water and a suitable brush. Abrasive or aggressive agents attack the coating and are therefore off-limits. Then let everything dry thoroughly and briefly check the seals are seated correctly before reassembling.
Is it a good first shisha of your own?
Yes, the setup is manageable and bowl as well as seals are already included. You should however plan for the fact that hose, mouthpiece, tobacco head, charcoal, tongs and HMD are still missing. Anyone who wants to get more into the setup later will find plenty of room with the splittable tubes.
