Moze Varity Squad Black – Smoke Column Set – Wavy Frosted

Wavy Frosted is the lightest sleeve in this line: milky, translucent acrylic/epoxy resin with a wave structure, set on a black Squad Base. The Varity is sold here as a smoke column set, i.e. without glass bowl – you bring your own bowl and thereby determine how the finished shisha ends up looking.

Four hose connections sit on the Squad base. Without the bowl, the smoke column comes to approx. 49 cm and approx. 2.2 kg; the base material is stainless steel. Included are the smoke column, charcoal plate and seals; Moze explicitly designs the Varity for both bowl types, "whether push-fit or screw bowl."

Design & finish: Wavy Frosted on a black Squad base

The sleeve is cast from acrylic/epoxy resin and carries the wavy structure typical of the Wavy series. Frosted here refers to the light, milky-translucent tone: not a signal color, but a muted shell that works mainly through its texture rather than its vibrancy.

The contrast here builds from bottom to top. The black-coated stainless steel base forms the dark foundation, the light sleeve sits above it like a set-off band. This combination works with almost any bowl color, because the sleeve itself stays neutral – handy if you ever want to swap the glass later on.

Individually adjustable draw

What sets the Varity apart from a permanently built-in shisha is inside the column: „Because both the dip tube and the smoke column are individually splittable, you decide for yourself how your Varity feels when smoking“, writes Moze. As the range, the manufacturer names a more direct draw or a softer pull – which setup delivers which result, it deliberately doesn't say, and we're not going to write you a formula here that doesn't exist.

The whole series follows this principle: smoke column, dip tube, sleeve, charcoal plate, diffuser and blow-off ring are standalone components, and for smoke column and dip tube there are extension segments for lengthening the column, which can then also accommodate the long sleeves. Such extensions are not part of this item.

Squad or Lounge? The comparison

The comparison is quickly told, because the two models differ in only one component: the Squad base comes with 4 hose connections, the Lounge base with 1. Smoke column, dip tube, diffuser, charcoal plate and blow-off ring are the same parts for both, dimensions and weight likewise. So the question is only how many people you're smoking with. Unused connections are sealed off on the Squad – a normal operating state, not a compromise.

For the configuration, Clear Bowl, Frosted Bowl and smoke column set are available. Both bowl variants come with a glass, measure approx. 52 cm and weigh approx. 4.1 kg; clear or satin-finished is purely a matter of looks here. Who is this Varity suitable for?

For sessions with several people, because four connections are available on the Squad Base. And for everyone who doesn't want the glass dictated to them: without a bundled bowl, you decide the shape, size and color yourself, and can also keep using a bowl you already own.

The light Frosted sleeve is the choice if you don't want to commit to a color – it stays neutral enough that a later bowl swap won't fail on color match. If, on the other hand, you're looking for a ready-to-use complete package, you're better served with the Varity Squad as a Clear or Frosted bowl version, since a glass is included there.

Care & construction

To clean it, you take the column apart – the fact that dip tube and smoke column are separable helps here just as it does when adjusting the draw. The stainless steel parts tolerate warm water and a brush, while you treat the resin sleeve only with warm water and a soft cloth. Aggressive or abrasive agents stay off both materials.

Let everything dry completely before reassembling, and check the seals while you're at it. They're the wear part in the system: if they sit tight and are free of cracks, the setup stays airtight and the draw stays the way you set it.
